Where there was once a farm where goat herders sought pasture with their goats, there is now a top-class retirement village with approximately 700 residents. The Cecil Morgan Trust donated the land to develop a retirement village. The Othello Retirement village is named after the opera “Othello” which was Cecil Morgan's favourite opera and all the buildings and streets bear names derived from characters in this opera. The development started in 2008 with 118 two and three-bedroom houses and 74 one-bedroom apartments. MMR-Property Developer completed the development with 307 modern 2-bedroom apartments in 2015. These buildings have beautiful atriums where the residents hold functions and engage in various activities.
